The wool sales o, en-d St' Dg The prices are from par to per cent, advance. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cablegram .from London, under date the Btb inst Wool.— Market opened strong for all sorts. As compand wnb last sales, closing rates prices are about par to 5 per cent, higher for fine crossbred and mt-riuo, and about 6 to 7.} per cent, higher for coarse crossbred and medium crossbred. Later. The wool market is animated and opening prices were fully maintained. At the wool sales, Buxton, Ronald and Go, the Balme Company, and Jaoomb and Son, offered 9046 bales, including 7028 of New Zealand. There was a crowded attendance from all parts and keen competition, Yorkshire manufacturers operating freely. Compared with closing raies of the March sales, medium coarse crossbreds are at par to 5 per centum higher.

The Department of Industries and Commerce has received a cable from the High Commissioner, dated London 9th:—Wool sales commenced with great competition and a good demand for all descriptions. Prices are advancing. Merinos and fine crossbreds advanced £d, and medium and coarse crossbreds, all grades, fd. Manufacturers are busy and in want of supplies.
