STOCK REPORT.

Mr W. Rose reports as follows: — During the past fortnight I have held the following sales : April 23rd, Woodville stock sale. — A poor yarding of cattle resulted in very little business being transacted. April 24th, Weber stock sale.—A fair yarding of both sheep and cat- } tie, and as most of the steck was without reserve, a total clearance was effected. Sheep ; 2ih ewes 10s 6d, f.m. ewes 6s, lambs 6s 9d to 7s 6d. Oat'le: —Fat cows £4 8s and £5, 2yr old steers £2 Is and £2 6s, yearling steers 265, dairy cow? from 86s upwards. April 28th, Dannevirke Horse Bale.—An entry of 127 horses (including those in the estate of the ; late Albert Teizlaffe) and 9d were disposed of under the hammer. Heavy and medium draughts w re mostly enquired for, and the supply exceeded the demand. Draughts realised from £26 up to £sl. The draught s allion “ Nnggec ” brought £35. Spring carters £24 to £3O; light harness horses £lO and upwards; hacks from £3 and upwards. May 4th, Dannevirke stock sab,— 1 Although the weather was very unpropitious, and stock were lor king at their worst, I am pleased to be able to report a decided improvement in the market since last sale. There I was a good yarding, cattle predorain- ' aling, and bidding all through was 1 keen. I quote as follows: —Sheep : 4,6, and f.m. ewes IBs 4d, 2 tooth ewes and wethers 12a 101. CattL : Fat bullocks £7 2s, forward bullocks £5, £5 la and £5 6s, f*i cows £4 8s and £4 9a, 2£yr-year-old steers £2 14s, £2 15s and £2 Is, cows in naif £2 and upwaida. Pigs: WeanersSs to 10s, porkers 14s. Burns and Scalds. ! Even the slightest burn or sca'd will i raise a blister, and often lend to a painful and chronic sore. Instantly after a burn, apply Chamberlain’s Pain Balm, 1 which will relive the pain, and in most cases prevent the formation of a blister or sore. No ordinary accident isso likely to lead to dangerious results as a burn or scald, and it Chain be i lam’s Pain Halm was good for nothing else, it would still be a remedy i hat no household should ever be without. For sale by Wotron & Co., Woodville.
