Unhappy Russia.

A COLONEL SENTENCED,

St. Petersburg, April 80,

Colonel Ermoloy has been sentenced to four years with the disciplinary batta’ionp. He admitted shooting Dr Vorahiey at Moscow in the presence of his wife and children on the ground (hat he was a revolutionary and deserved “ a dog’s death.” The Secretary of the Anglican Church Guild reports that a splendid lot of articles have come in for the grand bazaar next week, and that there is every prospect of a most successful affair. Mr and Mrs Reeve were entertained at a social at Pahiatua on Monday night prior to their departure for Wbangarei, to which district Mr Reeve has been transferred as clerk of the Court. Mr Reeve was presented with a pair of field glasses by the Pahiatua Rifles, and was also presented by the Wesleyan Church members, with a Bavelling bag. Mrs Reeve was presented with a polished oak tray and afternoon tea service.
