STOCK SALES. Abraham & Williams report as follow s:— At the Palmerston sheep fair we had a large entry, including sevei’al lines of good quality sheep. Prices opened well at first, but the apparent strong demand was scavely maintained, and vendors had to accept lower values in many cases. Breeding ewes were in good demand, but wethers* were neglected, the prices expected for most lines being prohibitive. At Dannevirke we had a representative entry of cattle and a large yarding of sheep, fully 3COO of the latter being penned. Sheep were in good demand under the hammer, especially 2-th and straight lines of breeding ewes, which sold quite up to our last sale's rates. Old ewes and breeding ewes of mixed ages were somewhat difficult to quit, vendors in most cases having to reduce reserves to ensure business. Cattle met a fair though dragging sale. We sold the bulk of our entry.
