HOMEBUSH BALES,

Sydney, June 25. The quality of the sheep offered for sale at Homebush has been steadily improving during the past few weeks. Primes to-day were more plentiful than for a long time. Prices were firmly maintained. Best wethers 21 s, extra 24s 3d, good 18s to 19s, best ewes 19s 6d, extra 225, good 17a 6d to 18s 6d. In cattle there was a further slight advance.' Best bullocks £lllss, extra £l2 17s6d, good £lO. Best cows €8 6s, extra £lO, good £7, best beef 295.

WOOL AND SKINS SALES.

Williams & Kettle, Ltd,, report having held their periodical sale of wool, skins, bides and tallow at Napier on Friday last. The trade was well represented, and bidding showed a rise of a |d on wool, and jd to *d on sheepskins; hides were a little easier. We'oSeted 112 bales. 267 pockets and 20 bags wool, 1630 sheepskins, 88 hides, and 17 packages tallow. We realised the following prices: Wool.—Crossbred, from 4-d to s|d ; lambs. 4d to 6d ; bellies r.ud pieces, B£d to B|d; erutchings, 2|d to 4d; locks, 2|d; black, B£d to 4d. Skins.—Merino, 5d ; crossbred, 3d to fid; hoggets, 3d to 4£d ; pelts, fid to 9d. Hides. —Ox, medium weights, 5d , to 6Jd; lighter, 4d to 4fd; cow, 4d to 4£d ; calfskins, Bfd. Tallow in station packages, 2|-d per lb; rough fat, Id per lb. Wenley & Lenauze report:— At Friday’s sale we offered 83 packages wool, 831 sheepskins, and 42 hides to the usual attendance of local buyers. Fleece wool, bush sorts, up to fid; erutchings, 3fd ; lambs’ wool, s£d. Hides, heavy ox, 6id. Competition was been for all descriptions, and showed a rise of a -d on last sale’s prices.

MR BAEGEOVE’S CLEARING SALE.

Abraham & Williams, Ltd., report as follows:

We conducted a clearing sale at Kuraeroa on Wednesday on account of Mr W. Bargrove. Despite the inclement weather prevailing, the attendance was large, and a satisfactory sale resulted. Although the vendor was unable to give tbe dates of the cows coming to profit, the demand was good and bidding spirited, prices ranging from £5 2s 6d to £lO, the whole herd averaging £7 13s. Heifers in calf made from £4 to £4 17a 6d; yearling heifers, £3 Is; weaners, 26s to £2 7s ; breeding sow, £.3 10s 5 store pigs, ‘26s ; ewes in lamb, lie; lambs, 7s 6d.

Messrs Abraham and Williams report : —At Palmerston on Thursday only a argali yarding of stock came forward. There was a brisk demand all round, and a good clearance was affected.
