WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES, &c. Messrs Wenley and Lanauze report : At Thursday's sale of wool, sheepskins, hides, and tallow, we offered IS packages wool, 1554 sheepskins, and 72 hides to the usual attendace of buyers. Wool.—Prices for crossbred wool remains the same, but any halfbred or merino offering is in strong demand. We quote stragglers crossbred, up to 5d ; pieces, up to Bfd ; locks, u,p to 2hd. Sheepskins.—We quote woolled crossbred, up to 4§d; halfbred, up to sd; short-woolled crossbred, up to 2f d ; short halfbred, 3d ; peltej up to 8d each. Hides.—We quote fair weight ox, up to 4d, special lines going up to 4Jd ; medium weight ox and cow, to 3fd ; calfskins, up to 4d. Messrs W'illiams and Kettle, Ltd., report having.held their periodical sale of wool, skins, hides, and tallow on Thursday, when they offered 204 bales, 2 fadges, 15 pockets, and 17 bags wool, 184 hides, 1546 skins, aDd 27 packages callow, to an appreciative attendance of buyers. Bidding for wool was animated for all fine grades, while coarse and long-dinged sorts remained at late sales' ratesi Skins were well competed for, and | sold on a par with those disposed of lat last sale. Hides proved firm, with a slight advance. Tallow, only inferior station packages offered. We realised the following prices : Wool. —Crossbred fleece, coarse aqd dinged, 4|d up to 5d ; pieces, from 2-}d to 3?.d ; lambs, from Sid. to 4M ; from 14d .to 2id; scoured crossbred, from 7d for "inferior up to 8f d ; scoured pieces, up to Q{i ; scoured virgin fleece, from lHd to 12^d. bkius.—Crossbred, from 2id to m per lb ; pelt 3, up to 7d each. Hides,—Light ox, from 3£d to 4Jd per lb ; cow. up to 3|i per lb. Tallow.—Ouly rough station packages offered, which realised from Id to 1-J-d per lb.
