Cricket.
WOODVILLE SCHOOL V. MANGAATUA SCHOOL. Rather an interesting cricket' match took place on Nelson's ground on Satutday last between teams from the above schools. The weather was first-class, and the boys enjoy, d themselves thoroughly. The Woodville boys provided refreshments f r the visitors. The Manga-atua boys went in first, but their wickets fell to the bowling of G. Robertson and R. Lloyd for a total of 25, J. Herlibey being top scorer with 8. The home team then put together Go, L. Moore and J. Robertson contributing 19 each. In the second innings Mangaatua made a better stand, Hughes making 17, with Ruddick and McCormick 11 each. The Woodville boys, at the cost of two wickets, made the 12 i-uds required to win. E. Ruddick cap'ained Manga-atua and E. Davies Woodville. Messrs Jardine and Halliday acted as umpires.
