Kennedy - Lucas Coy.
The Kennedy-Lucas Company, who have recently been performing in the bouth Island and Wellington, open in the Alexandra Hall this evening in Scudamore’s sensational drama “ Fighting Fortune.” Several members ot the company are old favorites in Woodville, especially Messrs J. J. Kennedy and Norton, Miss Hill, and Alias Ruby Kennedy. Other members of the company are new to the district, but bring most favorable reputations with them. Air Albert Lucas and Aiiss Lilia Wilde, who have an English reputation, are spoken of most highly by the Australian and New .Zealand press. Air Lucas is spoken of by the South African press as the best leading man that country has known durum the past decade. ° Air Lucas has also written a plav entitled “ The Dutch Devil,” which won the highest enconimns from Air Bland xlolt, to whom it was submitted for an opinion. company altogether comprise 15 artists, and as their performances are hignly spoken of, the Woodville public will have an opportunity of witnessing a first-class dramatic entertainment. By this anangemeul, which wo believe is entirely duo eo the enterprise of a Woodville speculator, play-goers will have an opportunity of witnessing the great drama of “ The Bells,” in which Air Albert Lucas plays the character of *• Alatthias, ’ and is said to be a verv lino piece of acting. In the afterpieco, Air J, J. Kennedy .appears in the Irish comedy, “ O’Callaghan on his last legs,” of which an exchange says : —“ \Ve have seen Air Kennedy in the Irish comedy ‘ O’Callaghan on his last legs,’ and he is a°fair beauty. The realistic way in which he kisses his <M ’ghter in one scene is annoying to the affectionate onlooker. The memory of it lives with ns yet.” The box-plan for reserved seats is now open at Air G. Hall’s.
