A gentleman connected with the dairy industry has received a letter from Home stating that Danish factory butter, ou sth April last, was down to 9|d, and that the Btate of the market in Denmark was quite demoralised. The Danish dairymen are compjaining very much. The factory owners have lost heavily. The cost of /production in Denmark is much greater than in New Zealand as the farmers there have to purchase fted for their stock, and have been in the habit of receiving 4£d pergillon for the milk. All other kinds of produce are equally low in price. One large investor in the dairy business lont in a year the whole amount he had paid in.
