Mangahao, was approved wrote statjothat the Minister of Lands was of opinion that deferred payment selectors who desire to complete their payments should make their applications to capitalise at their own instance without the benefit of capitalisation being pointed out to them. Mr T Miller’s application to convert section 3, block IV., Makuri, from perpetual lease to the deferred payment system was approved. Transfers Approved.—Section 91, block VII, Mangahao, J. McOalmont to A. Dawson and E. Selby ; section 19. block X. Apiti, C. Miller to B. A. and H. H. Refused.—J. O. Eastwood, C. E. Waldergrave, F. G. Moore, I*. Jones, J. Blewitt, and J. Stone. MISCELLANEOUS. The ranger reported that Dr J. Tripe had effected sufficient improvements to enable him to transfer sec 43, b 7, Apiti. F W. Croucher gave reasons for applying to transfer s 37, b XIV., Mangaone, to P. Nelson, but explanation was unsatisfactory, as improvements had not been #£ a Biirtoh applied to take J. H. Price into ’partnership in Sec. 172, B. Xii., Mangaone. —Approved. Miss M. E. Hughey applied for permission to transfer Sec. 21, B. XI ~ Pohangma, to her father, T>. Hughey, instead of to Costall and Port, as previously approved by the Board. On the motion of Mr Hogg it was decided, “That under clause 11?*, of tlie Land Act, 1886, that this Board does not think fit to accept Mr Hughey as ta«s transferee.,’ • ... . • ■cR. C. Wilson applied for exemption from residence on Sec. 4 and 6 > XL and X Makuri, until March, 1892. was resolved to offer Sec. 52. B XL, Apiti, for lease at auction under the Public Reserves Act, 1881, for a term of 10 years at an upset rental of Is 6d per acre. The Commissioner informed the Board that the boundaries of Sec. 11, B 111., Makuri, had been amended. The selector of Sec. 31, B XL, Mangaone, 1 explained the reason for his being so far in arrear<w>th his payments.—Must take steps-to- overtake arrears by New Year, and either reside on land or do double improvements. The Commissioner laid on the table a schedule of selectors in arre.ar with their payments, and it was resolved that all those who bad not paid before the next meeting, or 17tb pror, be sued for amoum in arrear. It was decided to ask the selector of s 39, b V., Mangaone, to explain why he had not carried out required improvements. Selectors of slO and 26, bIV., Ongo, to supply corroboration of their reasons why certain improvements had not been carried out. , It was resolved to urge the Minister ot Lands to offer the 12 acre sections in the Tutabkara Native reserve without delay under the village homestead system con ditions, and that the two sections at the back be offered at the same time for auctlC>The board adjourned until Dec. 17th.
