MR DALRYMPLE, M.P.C.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE INDEPENDENT. Sib, — I trust you will find room for a very small historical fact. When Mr Dalrymple met his constituents and others at Palmerston North, the resolution passed was to the following ffect : — " Mr Dalrymple ought to support a loan of £50,000," not £210,000. The " old tale," as your correspondent calls it, "of restricting the borrowing powers of Government," will always remain a new one as long as liberty exists. — I am, &c, J. MONBAD. Karere, January 2, 1874.
