THE ROMAN CATHOLICS AND THE EDUCATION BOARD.

The terms of the agreement made between the Roman Catholics of Wellington and tho Education Board are as follow : — Ist.. That the school grounds and buildings remain in the hands of the present trustee or trustees. 2nd. Thafc all necessary repairs, additions, and fences be executed by tho Board. 3rd. That the* school buildings be insured by the Bonrd. 4th That the present school furniture be lakon at a fair valuation by the Gourd. sth. That tho school trustees have the right to tho usb of the schools every ovening after six o'clock, for night-schoola or other objects independent, of tho Board. 6ih. That the first half-hour in ouch school day be devoted to ppeoinl religious instruction, and that, a room to be selected by tho trustees be set apart for that purpose. 7th. No children ot different denominations will be permitted to receive religious instruction except at the written request of the parents. <

Bth. The trustees to have the sole use of the school buildings on Sundays. 9th. That fche teachers be appointed by the Board, but no teacher to be appointed of whose appointment the trustees may disapprove. The Board will at all times attend to the representations of the trustees as to the fitness of any teachers to oontinue in office. 10th. Children whose parents object to any religious instruction, may come to school at the end of the first half-hour. 11th. That the salaries of the teachers be equal to those of teaohers of schools of the same standard. 12th. That the new series of Irish nations! school books be the books used for secular instruction in all the schools. 13th. That the present arrangements be terminable by either party at the expiration of six months' notice.
