BOARD OF WORKS.

The Commissioners of tho 80/ird met at their offices yesterday afternoon. Present : — Messrs Dransfield (chairman), Moeb, Plimmer, Quin, Miller, Carpenter, Borlase, and Eainie. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and conGrmed. The Treasurer stated that the balance to crodit at the bank was £131 13s 2d. WELLINGTON TERRACE. The Hot J. Patterson waited on the Board, in refoi'ence to tho open drain opposite his residence, and informed tho commissioners that several accidents had occurred in consequence. The commissioners informed Mr Paterson that they would instruct tho Engineer to see to it at onco. MULGRAVE STREET. A letter from Mr Brightwell, calling the attention of the Board to a dangerous hole in Mulgrave street was read. Tho matter was referred to the Engineer. j SUB-LETTING BOARD ROOM. A letter was received from Mr W. Allen informing tho commissioners that the Wellington Mutual Investment Society had agreed to sub-let their room to the Chamber of Commerce. WELLINGTON WATEE WORKS. A letter was read from Mr Beck, informing tho Board that ho would be ready to lay down pipes | in a few days, ansl asking the Engineer to look to the same. Mr Beck was present, and the former resolution, consenting to lay down tho pipes was read to him, and he agreed to comply with tho terms of tho same. WELLINGTON TEERACE. Tho Engineer asked the commissioners for instruct ions in reforonce to tho slip on tho Terrace. Mr Borlase was of opinion, that a wooden bridge ought to bo thrown across. After considerable discussion, it was agreed that tho matter should stand over until next meeting. ACCOUNTS. Salaries, wages, cartage and accounts amounting to the sum of £450 wore laid before the Board, and ordered to be paid. Tho meeting then separated.
