G-overiunent Notices. TO CONTRACTORS. nnHE Telegraph Commiseioncr is prepared to JL receive Tenders for the supply and delivery of four hundred (400) TELEGRAPH POLES, more or leas. Tho poles to be sawn from the heart of totara. Tho poles to he of the following dimensions : — Twenty-fivo (25) and twenty (20) feot long (in proportions hereafter to bo determined), to bo eight (8) inches square at tho butt, and six (6) inches square at the top. The polos to bo Bound, straight, and freo from t hakes, knots, and sap. JN.B. — No pole wilt he accepted which contains the least sap or speckled timber. The poles to bo delivered along a lino of telegraph to bo hereafter indicated between Invercar* gill and Riverton at points not loss than four chains apart. Tenderers are to specify the prico per pole aa per sizes given, and the timo for completion of contract. Each tender to bo accompanied by a doposifc of twenty-five pounds (£25) as a guarantee of good faith, winch sum will be forfeited by any tenderer should he refuse ro rake up his tonder in tha event of its being accepted, Each tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who ore willing 1 to become bond for tho due performance of the contract, in tho event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to tlut effect, signed by tlie two proposed sureties. The whole of the pole 3to be delivered on tho Railway Wharf, Lyttelton, within four (i) months from the dato of signing the contract— under a penalty o( £5 per diem for every day boyond the time specified.
