■» Sydney. — We quote the following from the Sydney Morning Herald of the 12th inst. :— Breadstuff? have fallen considerably since tho date of our late Bumniury, cnusod by arrivals of quantities from San Francisco, Now Zealand, Victoria and Tasmania, as well as from the country districts. And the fact, made known by the publication of a Gtovcrnnvnt return, which disclosed that no less than 127,870 bushed of wlieat, 1959 tons 1800 lbs flour, and 6128 bushels of bran — breadstuff's to the value of £100,000 — have arrived in Sydney during r,he last year from the agricultural districts of this country by the lines of railway, has also tended to lower prices. So far as the latter cause is concerned, it is reassuring to the colonists of New South Wales, pointing indubitably to the day whon, by the increased facilities of railway transit, they will be enabled to supply themselves with tho sfcaffof life, and save to the colony the vast sums that are at present annually sent away. Best California flour is now quoted at £15 per ton; best Adelaide at £18 to £19; Victorian, Tasmanian, and New South Wales, at £16 to £17South Australian wheat is quoted at. 7s 9(1 ; other sorts, from 7s to 7s 3d per bushel ; maize meal ( €7 per ton ; maize, 2s 6d per bushel ; bran and pollard, 13d per bushel. Kerosene is quoted at 2s ; linseed at 4s 6d to 5s ; colza at 5s to 5s 3d ; cocoanut is in fair supply.
