By the s.s. Taranaki we have later files from Otago and Canterbury to the 23rd and 24th instant. DUNEDIN RACES. The races took place on the 20th and 21st. The following are the chief events, with the names of the winners : — MAIDEN PLATE. Mr Glassford's Loudes 1 Mr Webb's Billy 2 HANDICAP HUBDLE BACE. Don Pedro 1 Clown 2 OTAGO JOCKEY CLUB HANDICAP. Mr J. G. G. Glassford's Schoolboy 1 Mr F. Wentworth's Firetail ... 2 Second Day. — dunedin cup. Miss King 1 Harkaway 2 GBAND STAND HANDICAP. Firetail 1 Virginia ... ... 2 Golden Cloud 3 The Coach from Oamaru to Dunedin got upset and several of the passengers, of whom there were sixteen, were injured, but none of them seriously. Mr Rattray, of the firm of Dalgetty, Rattray & Co. was one of the few who were most severely hurt. He had one of his ancles sprained, and was otherwise shaken and bruised. Another passenger had his elbow joint put out, and a third had one of his cheeks severely cut.
