MOVEMENTS OF THE PRINCE.

The following extracted from the 8. M. Merald, presents a oonvienent resume" of the Duke of Edinburgh's proceedings :~-On the day following his public entry into the city, bis Eoyal Highness held a levee at Government House, which was attended by many thousands of persons, the weather being less inclement. In the evening there was a grand display of fireworks in the Outer Domain at which there must have been 60,000 people present. On Friday a grand review took place in the Outer Domain, at which the Prince appeared in the uniform of a general officer of Saxe- Coburg Gotha. There must have been over 50,000 people on the ground. In the evening there was a dramatic performance at the University, which liis Eoyal Highness attended. Theplays were Terreuce's Phormio and Molire's witty but somewhat indelicate comedy oi Monsieur de Pourceaugnac. On Saturday the "Duke's day" Baces came off at Eandyviek, in view of a large concourse, whose enjoyment ofthe sport was enhanced by tho cloudless weather. . There were seven races on the card, and all of them were well contested. The Prince, who drove a four-in-hand, remained to witness the last event, which did not conclude ' until after 6 o'clock. The Earl and Countess of Belmore, Sir George and Lady Bowen with their suites, and the gentlemen in attendance upon His Eoyal Highness were present. On Monday, the Anniversary Begatta took place, and the Prince was also present at that. Heavy rain prevented a good deal of enjoyment, and some races : had to be postponed. His Eoyal Highness lunched on board the flagship, with the members of the regatta committee, and, his .health being proposed, returned thanks "in a neat and appropriate" but brief oration. On the following day the Bishop of Sydney, in the presence of a brilliant assemblage, and on behalf of tho children attending the Anglican Sunday schools in the dioceses of Sydney and Goulburn, presented his Eoyal Highness with a splendid Bible and Prayer Book in a rich casket. The presentation took place in St Andrew's Cathedral. On the 29th the Duke attended a horticultural fete held in the Botanic Gardens.
