Saturday, February 16. (Before J. C. Crawford, Esq., R.M.) DRUNKENNESS. "William Zealey and E. McElwin, were charged with drunkenness, and each fined 10s and costs, or, in default, 48 hours' imprisonment with hard labor. IMPOUNDING ACT. Frederick Tetley and W. Tonka were charged ■with breaches of the Impounding Act. The former was fined 2s and costs ; and the Jatter 9s and costs. BREACHES OJ DOG ACT. Benjamin Reeves, John Dixon, J. Robinson and James H. Williamson were charged with having unregistered dogß in their possession, and each fined 2s and costs. EMBEZZLEMENT. In the case of Mr Janes, his Worship informed the counsel engaged that he had consulted the | Attorney-General on the point raised on Friday, and the Attorney-General had given it as his opinion, that the prisoner might be examined in the gaol on a fresh charge, but that he could not ho brought down to the Court for examination except under an order from a Judge of the Supremo Court. Mr Borlase, as counsel for the prosecution, said it was impossible to get such an order, as Mr Justice Johnston was absent from the province. If, however, the prisoner was acquitted on the charges for which he was now awaiting j his trial, he should immediately have him apprekended on the charge upon which he had wished to have him examined.
