Wakamarina GI-old Field. — The Marlborough Tress of May 31st, says : — " Intelligence has reached vis that the late heavy rains have once more flodded out the whole of the river claims. This has driven the miners to try new ground on the terraces, but we hear with no great success. , As is usual on most of the New Zealand diggings, a few only are doing well, and the rest merely making scant wages." The same paper in its issue of Juno 7th, states : — " The latest news from the Wakamarina conveys us the intelligence that fresh ground has been opened up at a spot six or seven miles beyond Deep Creek on dry sinking, > and that several claims are paying fair working wages."
