In the list or passengers per Storm Bird, published in our last issue, the name of Mrs Barrett was omitted. The N.Z.S.N. Co.'s s.s. Wellington, 11. 13. l'rancis, left the Bluff on tho 2nd instant at 3.30 p in, and arrived at Otßgo at 8.45 a.in on the 3rd ; left Otago on the sth at 1.50 p.m. and arrived at Lyltolton at 11 '60 am on the 6th. .Loft LyUelton on the 7th at 0.1J5 p.m, and anchored in Wellington harbor on the Bth, at fi.3o a.m. The nuw steam-lug Southland was eiitoring Muff harbor under canvas as tho Wellington left that port. At 8 p.m. on the 7th instant, when about 10 miles south of the Kaikoura, tho Wellington passed a large piece of wreck. It was about the size of an ordinary life boat, and had tho appearance of the top works of some vessel. Tub New Zis.ih.n-d.— Tho reputo of this Teasel as a " blockade runner" created sonic speculation as to her appoaranco previous to her arrival here, but when, on Tuenday last, she ontered our harbor expectations as usual lead as usunl had outstripped reality, and it was discovered that whau-.ver her speed was ut one time it now was but that of an ordinary boat and by no means excessive, Rhe having been about ten days on the passage from Melbourne to Hokitika. She is a paddle-Rteuuier of 342 tons, with the deck housed-iu from stem to stem, and taking v, depressed form at both ends, which <;ives her a somewhat ci o -ar-shaped appearanoo, tho top of tho housing forming a spacious iiurricane-dcek. Her three funnels abraast and athwart, gave her an ungainly appearance, but her draught is remarkably light for her size, and sho was enabled to go into tho Hokitika river without difficulty, being by far tho largest steamer insido tho bar. We believe he r diminished 'speed is attributable lo one of tho boilers hiving bueonio unserviceable since her blockade running oxploils wero performed. — ' Nelson Colonist.'
