SHIPPING MEMS FOR THE MONTH.

The screw steamer Albion arrived from Melbourne via the South, on February 10, and sailed again on the 11th. The regular trader brig Gazrallo, Capt Tucker, arrived in this harbor on Saturday afternoon, February 18. She left Newcastle on tho 4th inst, and having light baffling winds, sighted tho Three Kings, ou the 7th day out, had light bafniug winds the remainder of the passage. The screw steamer Hero, from Melbourne, via Southern Ports, arrived hero with the English Mail on board, on tho 2lßt February. The P., N.Z. & A. R.M. Co's s.s. Prince Alfred, Capt. IT. S. Machin, with the Nelson portion of H.M. mails left Sydney on the 15th Feb, with fltio clear weather and light airs from the nor'-west, next day gradually shifting to the east and south-east, with thick and hazy weather, which for the most part continual during tho remainder of the voyage, sighted Capo Farewell at 4 o.m. of the 20th, rounded the spit at 8, came up the bay day dead slow, it being so thick that tho land could not be made out Left Nelson at 5 a.m. on tho 22nd, ran through the French Pass at 8 a.m., and arrived in this Port at G p.m. Passed the p.s. City of Dunodin at 9.30 a.m. bound to Nelson. Experienced strong gale and heavy squalls through the straits. The clipper brig Wild Wave, Captain Vandervord, arrived hero on Saturday, 25th February. She left Sydney on tho 9th, and experienced head winds, varying from E. to E.S.E. with rain. The voyage occupied 16 days. Captain Vandervord reports having seen a brig in the Straits bearing westward. She brings a gonoral cargo, and is consigned to Mr E. Pearco. The s.B. Claud Hamilton arrived in port on Thursday, March 2, from Molbourue, via Auckland and Napier. She loft again for Melbourne, via Picton and Nelson on the 3rd. Tho brig Rona, Captain Leys, arrived on Friday, March 3rd, from Adelaide, via Nelson. She brings a' cargo of wheat for Messrs J. & T. Kebbell. The Government steamer St Kilda, Captain Fraser, from Dunedin, arrived in port on March Bth, at 8 She left Otago heads on Sunday morning, with a light N.E. wind. At noon the same day, one of tho firemen, named Alexander Rintoul, got his hand severely injured in the engine room, and Capt Fraser thought it prudent tc put into Akaroa for medjeal assist nice. She arrived at Akaroa on Monday morning, at 8 o'clock, and loft again ! at 3 p.m. same day. Experienced strong head winds, with heavy sea until reaching this port. ! The ship Ballarat, Captain Allen, took her departure for London, on February 28th, with a full cargo and several passengers.
