Bulk ale is being inquried for, shipments being understood to be light The same remark applies to bottled stout, holdors of which are withdrawing and awaiting further advices. To holders of tobaeco the news to hand is also favorable. For Syduey two vessels, viz., the Sandon and Tightfoot had sailed. Common congous with loaf were reported scarce. At Shanghai a good business was doing in some kinds owing to a decline, but good congous woro one tael dearer. At -Hong Kong much doing. Common Canton gunpowders were cheaper, but the better kinds were commanding Ulgher prices. Tho Cedara arrived to day with 424,800 lbs. A telegram received by Messrs J. C. Bobertson giving an abstract of Hong Koug advices to the 27th August mentions one vessel, the Phiiip, loading, and adds that the exports of new teas show a decrease of 1,700,000 lb, as compared with the same period last year. ;
