A Meeting of the Wainui members of No. 1 Company Hutt Volunteer Rifles, was held at the Mechanics' Institute, Hutt, on Friday evening last, Mr. Hugh Cieland occupied the chair. The chairman having stated the objects for which they wore called together, suggested that the ballot for the election of officers should be the first business of the evening Three sciutineers were appointed to tuke charge of the ballot box; and at tho termination of the ballot, the following gontlemen were declared duly elected, viz. : —

Mr. Hugh Cleland, Captain Mr. Edward Braithwaite, Ist Lieut. Mr. Thomas Mills, 2nd Lieut. Mr. Humphries, Ist Serjeant Mr. Downie, 2nd " Mr. Harry Braithwaite, 3rd Serjeant
