To his Excellency Colonei. THosfAs Gorifc Bnow.NK, C.8., Governor of New Zealand. The Memorial of the Undersigned Electors and other Inhabitants of (he Province of Wellington. RedPEtitFtlLXY SriEVVEtli,--That a Deadlock lias ensued between the Executive and Representative bodies.; which, preventing as it does the enactment of many useful and much needed measures, is occasioning great inco'nvenienee and loss to the province ; and besides the delay and stoppage of the public .(vorks, has thrown a great muiiy of the working classes out of employment. And as your Memorialists believe that the only solution of the difficulty lies in an appeal to the Electors, they therefore respectfully pray that your Excellency will be pleased to use the power conferred ilpdn yo'il by the Constitution Act tii immediately dissolve the Provincial Council; jindjo issue Writs for a new Election wiili tlie least possible delay.
