Wr.TXK OF TJTE ScHOOXEIt PoRT GI.VSGOW. — On Saturday afternoon, Captain Davis, the Pilot for this port, brought information into Town of the tatal wreck of the schooner Port Glasgow, belonging to Canterbnrv, laden witli barley, and bound to this port. On Sunday morning last. Sergeant Major Styles proceeded to the scene of disaster, in lite Police Boat. He found the vessel on shore iv Fitzroy Bay, as before stated, ami high and dry upon the beach. The natives stated that they saw the vessel on Thursday last, coming from the southward, and drifting towards the laml. She was dismasted, and waterlogged, and no person was seen upon the wreck. Indeed, many of the natives were not satisfied that it was" a vessel at all, (thinking it might be a. large bunch of seaweed) until Friday morning, when they saw her high and dry upon iho beii-cb. The boat belonging to the vessel was found undjr the Lighthouse, smashed to pieces, about two miles to the westward friiiii where the vessel grounded. Her hatches and a cask of tallow were lying midway between t!>e vessel and the beat. From appearances, it is supposed that the vessel must have been pimped by a heavy sea in the S. E. gale on Thursday last, while runnin r for this harbour. None of the bodies have besu found. The P<rt Glasgow was a schooner of about 25 tons register, and belonged to Messrs. Gold & Miles, <if Cliristchurch. Her cargo consisted of 800 bushels barley and 1 ton tailo.v.
