GARDENERS' CALENDAR JULY.
This is the first month in the season in which seeds can be sown out ct doors with any prospect of their vegetating. Experience teaches that in New Zealand, seeds should only be lighlv covered with earth, otherwise in nunieious instances they will be found to rot in the ground. Flower Garden. —Prepare ground for seed to be sown next month. Kitchen Garden.— Sow cabbages, carrots, parsnips, onions, leeks, broad beaus, pot herbs, and shrub trees. Field. —Keep the weeds under by preparing ground; plant English or Native forest trees; sow spring barley, but on fine soil.
