GARDENERS' CALENDAR, JULY.
This is the first month in the season in which seeds can be sown out ot doors with any prospect of their vegetating. Experience teaches in New Zealand, seeds should only be lighlv covered with earth, otherwise in numerous instances they will be found to rot in the ground Floiver Garden.— Prepare gronnd for seed to he sown next month. Kitchen Garden. —Sow cabbages, carrots, parsnips, onions, leeks, broad beans, pot herbs, and shrub trees. Field.— Keep the weeds under by preparing ground ; plant English or Native forest trees; sow spring barley, but on fine soil.
