THE STORMING OF KORORARIKA, AND MASSACRE OF THE WHITES.
We have been favored with the perusal of a new Melodrama, bearing the above title, which we understand is in the course of rehearsal, ami will be shortly represented in Sydney. It is from the pen of a talented New Zealauder, and the proceeds arising from its representation will accrue to the funds of the Maoriaa Philosophical Society. The principal characters will be sustained by Governors Fitzroy, Gipps, and Bishop Selwyn, who have engaged, at high salaries, to render the performance as effective as possible. The celebrated performer Heki has most liberally promised to conae forward on the occasion, and will, in the course of the piece, display the New Zealand war dance, concluding with the scalping of a British soldier. The piece opens with a splendid chorus of Maories, who express their disgust at finding the perk at Kororarika of a very inferior quality, and vow vengeance on the perfidious whites, who, not content with having usurped their territory, now want to compel them to eat lean pork. The words of this chorus are very spirited, and characteristic of the pure patriotism that so highly distinguishes the free and enlightened sons of New Zealand. They are as follows :—
