NEW THAMES HOSPITAL

SOME OBJECTIONS TO THE PRESENT SITE THE PROPOSED LOAN • Objections to the raising of ’ a £184,000 loan for the erection of a new hospital in Thames were made to the Thames Hospital Board by the Oliinemuri and Hauraki Plains County Councils and by Mr A. J. Whiteside, of Karaka .Road, Thames, on the grounds that the present site was unsuitable. No objections were raised by the Waihi Borough Council.

“I would just like to say this,” commented Mr.J. W. Danby, chairman, “the question of the site has been settled and approved by the Government. All that remains now is for any objections to the proposal to be forwarded to the Government with our appliaction for permission to borrow, and doubtless when the application comes before the loan board there will be due regard paid lo the objections which have been made.”

He moved that the application and objections be sent forward. This was seconded by Mrs L. Drinkwater (Waihi) and carried.
