( APTAIN V. AITKIN FORMER WHANGAMATA MAN Advice bus been received by Mrs F. Aickin, of To Kuiti and formerly of Whangumata. flint her husband, Lieutenant F. Aickin, has been promoted to the rank of captain. His father was the late Mr Casement Aickin, of Auckland. Captain Aickin was educated at the Auckland Grammar School, and prior to his enlistment, about two years ago, he lived at W'hangamata. He farmed for some years at ITelensvillo. He left New Zealand in June, lit H, as a second-lieutenant with a motor transport unit.
