BIBLE IN SCHOOLS
QUESTION RAISED AGAIN
SYNOfi URGED TO ACT
That vexed question of Bible in schools remains, and here is a copy of a motion passed by the clergy of the Auckland Diocese in conference held recently: “That this conference of clergy' of the Diocese of Auckland feels strong dissatisfaction with the present Nelson system of Bible in schools, and resepctfully urges the General Synod to give consideration to the establishment of some more adequate system of religious instruction in schools by which the clergy would enjoy the privilege of giving instruction to the children of their own communion.” The mover of the motion was the vicar of Hauraki 'Plains, the Rev. Mr Dobson, and he was seconded by the vicar of Pukekohe, the Rev. Mr Preeble.
