GOLF SEASON ENDS
MIXED FOURSOMES PLAYED
YEAR’S WINNERS OF TROPHIES
Members of the Waihi Golf Club and friends gathered on the closing day for the season last Saturday, when mixed foursomes were played, the winners being H. Malyon and Mrs Hetherington. A putting competition was won by K. Birchall and T. Moralee.
At afternoon tea the president, Mr M. F. Haszard, welcomed members and presented the trophies won during the season, which this year included an intermediate cup presented by Mr J. Barron, and a junior cup presented by Mr W. Meiklejohn,
Following are the results of the season’s play: Senior championship, E. Hollis; intermediate championship, F. Hunt; junior championship, A. Hales; club cup, H. Haszard; senior plate, C. R. Tilly; intermediate plate, W. Wotherspoon; junior plate, F. Thompson; president’s trophy, A. Hales; captain’s trophy, Mr and Mrs E. Hollis; president’s trophy (women), Miss Butler and Mrs McDermott; eclectic competition (senior), E. Hollis, (junior), /K. Birchall.
