VIEWS OF CORRESPONDENTS

THAMES HOSPITAL BOARD

Sir, —I have no desire to be dis-

courteous to your correspondent, Mr Parr, and it would not be difficult to

answer all his questions, but seeing

that he refuses to beleive me when I say that my one desire is that the Waihi hospital shall be maintained

to that standard of efficiency as to

ensure the very best treatment to

those who are unfortunate enough to have to enter it —then I consider I

am only wasting your time and mine

if I were to do so. If my friend, Mr

Parr, thinks he is going to draw me

into a discussion on the question of whether or not the Thames Hospital Board was justified in coming to the decision it did or not, then he has another “think” coming. I also decline to discuss the question of whether the Waihi board was justified in paying the salaries quoted by Mr Parr —that was the concern of the Waihi board, not mine. Regarding the vegetables forwarded to Thames, it was very nice to be able to get them and I feel sure that the Thames board will send along to the Waihi hospital a few eggs, or perhaps a side of bacon or two, when they, like Waihi, have more than they require.—l am, etc.,

W. C. KENNEDY
