RIFLE SHOOTING
WAIHI DEFENCE CLUB'S COMPETITIONS
Members of the Waihi 'Defence Rifle Club held their weekly shoot during the week-end over ranges pf 200yds and 300yds under ideal conditions. The winner was Rifleman J. Wotherspoon with a total of 9Q points. Following are the scores: Riflemen J. Wotherspoon 90, F. Brooks 87, MBrown 87, E. Trembath 87, T. Cornes 84, J. Cornes 83, P. Finnell 83, D, Seath 78, E. Swindells 77, E. Dye 76. The teams' match was won by E. Trembath's team with 325 points against E. Swindells' team's score of 314 points. The teams' competition is now a draw and next week the final shoot will be fired on the 500 and 600 yards ranges to decide the, winning team. The following are the scores to date for the championship cup: D. Seath 269 points, J. Cornes 268, P. Finnell 256, J. Wotherspoon 255, P. Seath 254, M. Brown 251, E. Swindells 248, F. Brooks 247, T. Cornes 242, E. Trembath 237, J. Coleman 227.
The championship is to be concluded on Saturday next over the 500 and 600 yards ranges.
