Mr Thomas H. Lightfoot, a middleaged shunter employed in the Christchurch railway goods yards, was killed yesterday when he was run over by a rake of trucks and the engine in the yards. He died before he could be extricated from beneath the tender of the engine, which had to be backed up to remove the body.
