THE FOOTBALL SEASON

CUP COMPETITIONS ON SATURDAY TWO SENIOR MATCHES Two senior, two junior and one third grade Rugby football matches will be played in Waihi on Saturday afternoon when both the Recreation Ground and Rugby Park will be in use. The programme is as follows: Rugby Park: 1 p.m., Mataura v Arawa third grades; 2 p.m., Convent Old Boys v. High School Old Boys B juniors; 3.15 p.m., Convent Old Boys v. High School Old Boys seniors. Recreation Ground: 2 p.m., Mataura v. High School Old Boys A juniors; 3.15 p.m., Mataura v. Katikati seniors. Teams will be as follows:

Mataura Seniors: R. Radford, E. Radford, C. Hughes, R. Keane, E. Shergold, K. Berryman, A. Roberts, J. Neeson, J. Hague-Smith, R. Spiers, Wairepo, W. Findlay, R. Quinlan, P. McConnell, P. Stace and Raimana.

Mataura Juniors: Dunstan, Henderson, Potier, McConnell, Heath, Mooney, Prendeville, Kavanagh, Fry, Kingsford, Wells, Pascoe, Gardiner, Brown, Butler, Cornes and Berryman.

High School Old Boys Seniors: Burt, Henry, Cornthwaite, Carr, Lyndon, Lyndon, Farrell, Hovell, Stamp, Jesney, Pennell, Day, O'Neil, Thomson Hughes; emergencies, Rowe and Whitehead.
