FIRST PULL AT 7.45 O’CLOCK

Great interest is being taken in the tug-o’-war tournament to be held in the Miners’ Union Hall to-morrow (Friday) night in aid of the Convent Old Boys' queen campaign. Eight teams have entered for the open puli, six for the junior and four are expected in the ladies’ contest, Special seating accommodation on raised platforms will be provided so that all will have a good view of the events, the front scats being reserved for ladies. The first pull will taka place at 7.45 p.m,. the draw being as follows: — ,

Open Semi-Finals: 0,5 p.m., Whiners of first pull meet winners of second pull; 915, winners of third pull meet winners of fourth pull. 9.30 p.m., ladies’ pulls.

The final of the junior pull will take place at 10 p.m., and the open final at 10.15.
