PATTERSON DISQUALIFIED IN BOUT WITH RUMBBRG THE REFEREE DEFIED By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, this day. The professional wrestling bout at tiie Town Hall last night between Jack Patterson and Hal Rumberg ended in the former being disqualified in the sixth round. Patterson did almost everything a good wrestler should not do. He punched, he bit, lie pulled Rumberg’s hair and threatened the referee, Mr George Bennett, early in the sixth round. The onlookers, who had spent a great part of the evening booing Patterson to the echo, fully approved of the official’s decision and relieved their feelings by cheering Rumberg and crowding round him to pat his back as he walked towards the dressing room.

WALKER-MAMOS BOUT PROVES A FARCE By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, this day. There have been some remarkable scenes connected with wrestling at tlie Town Hall since it became so popular with the public during the past few years, but they wore exceeded last night when George Walker and Harry Mamos contested a drawn match. No falls had been registered up to the seventh round when Walker hcadlocked his opponent and both wont sprawling through the ropes, falling off the staging to the floor In front of the stalls. The referee, Mr Sidford, counted the regulation 30 seconds and as neither man returned to the ring within that time ho declared tire match drawn. This gave such general dissatisfaction that the bout was resumed. At the end of the eighth round, however, no falls had been secured by either man and so the contest ended in a draw, tho referee not giving a decision of points'
