NEW YORK BANKER INDICTED
FALSIFICATION OF TRUST BOOKS FOURTEEN CHARGES Australian anc- N.Z. Cable. NEW YORK, April 6. Joseph W. Harriman, former head of the Harriman National Bank and Trust Company, was indicted today by a Federal grand jury on charges of making, or causing to be made, 14 false entries on the books of the bank. Harriman had previously been arrested on a Federal warrant charging him with similar offences. The bank did not open after the compulsory "holiday,” and is being placed in the hands of the conservator.
