FURTHER REDUCTION TO 3
PER CENT
STIMULATING EFFECT

The reduction of the bank rate was announced to-day from 3£ per cent, to 3 per cent., thus halving it in nine Avecks. The reduction Avas Avelcomed in the city and had a stimulating effect.
British funds, after a firm opening. Avere again marked up after the announcement, leaving off Avith a gene ral rise of. 1-16 to 3-Sths.
