CRAIGIE —MCFARLANE

A wedding of mpra than local interest wgs celebrated at St. Janies’ Presbyterian Church, Waihi, on Tuesday, December 30th, when Miss Dorothy Isabel McFarlane, eldest daughter of the Rev, J, D. McParlane, wqss married W Mv Douglas Craigie, eldest soil of My J, MCraigie, of Momington. Dunedin. The bride's father, assisted by the Revs. T. Burrows and J, Lowden, performed the ceremony. The service was fplly choral with Mrs J. W, Jones, of Waikino, at the organ. The church had been tastefully decorated by friends of the bride, a pleasing feature being a pretty wedding bell,

which hung above the heads of the bride and bridegroom. The bride, who entered the church wtih her father, wore an ankle-length frock of ivory georgette, with long sleeves and long waisted bodice effect. The fully flared skirt ] was prettily inset with lace. Her embroidered tulle veil, held in place with a coronet of orange blossom* and pearls, formed a train, which

was carried by little Allison Budge, niece of the bride, who was dressed in a frock of cornflower blue crepe-de-chene. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Marjorie McFarlane, sister of the bride, apd Misft Bel Slevin, wearing frocks alike iw design of apricot and green crepe elise respectively, with cape collar effect. Their hats of biscuit shaded crinoline straw were trimmed with ribbon and flowers to tone. All carried bouquets toning with their frocks, R. Craigie, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best map, and Mr A. McMillan was the groomsman. As

the couple were leaving the church Dorothy Booth, niece of the bride, strewed rose petals on their path. After the ceremony a reception was held at St. James’ Hall. Mrs Booth, sister of the bride, fece.iveti her guests in a frpeh pt fawn figured marocaip witp fawn lace straw hat to

tope. She carried a bouquet of Iceland poppies. During the breakfast the usual toasts were honoured and interspersed with ;i few items, solos being sung by Mrs Capper and Mr G. Armour and a duet by Miss M. Paterson and Mrs J. W. Jones, The couple left by car for Frunklon eu route to Timaru, where the honeymoon is being spent. Mr and Mrs Oraigie will make I heir homo in Dunedin.
