That it anything was to he done towards reducing the price of bread it would seem that an important step was to endeavour to reduce the costs of production and distribution, was the opinion expressed by Mr W. H. Nicholls, public accountant, of C'liris-church. when giving evidence before the Select Committee which is inti tilling into the question of the wheat duties. Mr Nicholls said the overhead charges and costs of distribution were the main cause of. the high price of the loaf.
