SHAREBROKER’S CUP MATCH ON SATURDAY WAIHI’S CHANCE TO WIN TROPHY Waihi and Hauraki Plains Junior Rugby representatives will meet on the Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon, when play for the Sharebrokers’ Cup will take place. The game will commence at 3 o’clock, and if Waihi wins the fifteen will take the cup. If the team loses, however, it will be out of the contest for this year. The following will represent Waihi: —full-back, Torrens; threequarters, Grant, Hawthorne, Campbell; five-eighths, Steel, Warn; half, Fallon; rover, Johns; forwards, McAra, Sampson, Hughes, Weedon, Grammar, Rogers, Comes. Emergencies: Backs, Burt, Wells, Radford; forwards, Ludwig, Brister. Mounsey.
As a “curtain raiser,” commencing at 1.45 o’clock, the Paeroa and Waihi schoolboy representatives will play a game in the Fleming Shield competition.
Next Saturday the senior team of the Auckland City Club will play Waihi, at Waihi. It is expected that the contest will provide a good exhibition of football. The visitors will be entertained to dinner, with a social to follow in St. Joseph’s Hall.
