AUCKLAND TO LOSE SIX DAYS

The Rating Commissi'on's report was iu-day made available. The Commissioners recommended that the number of days on which the totalise tor may bo used be iivrea.-ed from 289 to 316. made up a,s follows: —Racing clubs 223 (at present 21-1), hunt club? 15 (at present 16). and trotting clubs 78 (at present 59).

Auckland loses .-ix days’ racing made up as follows: —Avondale Jockey Club lor.i days. otaliuhu Trotting Club lour days (a total of eight days), less two days extra given to the Auckland Trotting Club. The Commisi-kmcrs recommended that a special departmental inquiry be held, regarding the Takapuna Jockey Club to ascertain as to whether this club is in any sense a proprietary club. The Commissioners express dissatisfaction with the manner in which the business affairs of this club have, been, and are be-

ing. administered.
