BLACKBERRIES.

Sir, —Tho Waihi blackberry crop this year has exceeded al! anticipations. There is no doubt that the judicious pruning by the borough workmen last year has been most successful, as wiil be seen by tho luxuriant plantations of the luscious fruit in all directions. In fact, tho only parts of tho town m which they don't appear to mako any headway is on the Suddon Memorial and on the concrete crickot pitch on the " JKee." However, I Jive in hopes. Waihi is getting as famous for its blackberries as Rir'u uliead is for strawberries. —I am, etc,, BIKD'd EYK.
