THE TIFLIS POSITION
CONFLICTING REPORTS. AS TO TOWN’S CAPTURE. (Times Service.) (Received 8 a.m.) LONDON, March 1. Reports as to 'the. position in Tiflis are conflicting. Georgian Government- telegrams state thalt the. town has not fallen to the Soviet troops. A Constantinople correspondent states that anarchy and pillage are rampant in Tiflis, due to Bolshevik agents demoralising the Georgian army), which later raeflted away, allowing the Bolshevik army to capture, the town without resistance.
Another Bolshevik arlny is reported to be marching upon Ba.toum, on which a -Turkish' army is also marching. The Moslem population. will certainly support the latter.
