ENGLISH MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
LABOUR'S REVERSE. RESULT OF EXTRAVAGANCE. (Australian and N.Z. Cable.) (Reueived November 4, 8 7i.ni.) LONDON, November 2. The returns in the Elnglish municipal elhstiouis show that out of 747 Labbur candidates only 199 have been clied-. which is a striking reversal of the re suits of 1919. leaving Labour considerably weaker. The set back is attributed mainly to the agitation against the increase i' l rates, which are especially heavy where Labour has dominated the Councils. ELECTIONS IN SCOTLAND. LABOUR GAIN AT GLASGOW. (Rcdeived November 4. 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, November 3. In idle municipal elections att Glasgow the Labour Party gained 20 seats. They now hold 45 seats out of 113.
