AUUKLAPJC. this tor Work has not been resumed in the Tanpiri Goal Mining Company’s Ebctend-'-ed mine at Huntly, although the fall jwSioh had caused the trouble in No. 4 section has been cleared away. The reason, why the men have absented ’tjheinselyea from work is not known to the company’s officials. The suspension of operations in the mine is very seriously accentuating the coal shortage. The Extended mine has been idle for eleven days, practically no Work having been jdone since. June 29th. As the normal output is 600 tong daily, this means that tho community has already been deprived of 6600 tons owing to the stoppage. The executive, of the union has been in Auckland for a week ija connection with the drawing up of a new agreement. This was completed yesterday, subject to ratification by the union, ana it is thought that the men may be awaiting the return of the executive before tbagting worl# .
