AMERICA CUP RACES

THE DATES FIXED

(United Service Telegrams.) NEW YORK, July 11

The America •Gup races will he held as follow: —The first, on July loth; second, on July 17th; and third, on July 20th. The Resolute and Shamrock IV. are both being measured for the purpose of determining what time allowance shall be made to the smaller vessel. It is unofficially estimated that the Resolute will obtain six and a-half minutes’ allowance. Sir Thoraa* Lip ton, owner of Lite Shamrock, lias made this statement; “I might say that the Challenger is the magic key With which I hops to achieve my life-long ambition of winning the America Oup. Only the i ace will Cell whether it is the right key.but whether I win or lose my admiration for the American people will remain, as I will never forget the many kindnesses they have shown to me.”
