EFFECT ON COST OF LIVING. GOVERNMENT TO RESIST. (TJnitfid Service Telegrams.* (Received July 12. 8 a.m.) LONDON, Juy 11. It is reported that the Government is determined to resist the minora' latest demand for a further two shil'lings per shift, because it is. necessary to reduce the cost of 'living, which the high wages are keeping up.
